Jennifer White, Ed.M., Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist who has over 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She believes that neuropsychological and psychological assessment can be invaluable tools for understanding what is making it hard for an individual to make progress at school, home, or with peers, and for determining what the most appropriate ways to move forward are. She believes it is especially important to work closely with parents to help them understand what is going on when their children become stuck and has seen how helpful a comprehensive evaluation can be in figuring out the factors that need to be addressed.

After earning her undergraduate degree at Harvard University, Dr. White spent 3 invaluable years working as a preschool teacher. Inspired by the wide variety of temperaments and learning profiles she observed, Dr. White became interested in better understanding the role of neurodevelopmental challenges in learning, behavior, and emotional well-being. Dr. White went on to earn a Master’s in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and subsequently a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Dr. White was able to participate in research projects that followed children and adolescents for many years in order to study the neuropsychological factors associated with nonverbal learning disorders and a variety of behavioral difficulties.  This led to a strong appreciation for the interplay between cognitive and emotional development.

Dr. White completed her internship at McLean Hospital, refining her skills in assessment and intervention. Her 2 year post-doctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology was also at McLean Hospital where she performed neuropsychological and psychological assessments in the Learning Evaluation Clinic. Dr. White went onto become a staff member and subsequently the director of the Learning Evaluation Clinic which is now known as the Child and Adolescent Testing Service. At the Child and Adolescent Testing Service, Dr. White has provided comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations. She is a Clinical Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and conducts post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychological assessment.

Kathryn Piscitelle, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in neuropsychological and psychological testing and play therapy. She has extensive experience working with young children, adolescents and families, as well as adults. Dr. Piscitelle received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and her doctoral degree from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She worked at the Gifford School and received training at the Walker Home and School, Wayland and Lexington Public Schools, Regis College Counseling Services and the Brenner Center.

During a two year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, she received intensive training in neuropsychological and psychological evaluation. She worked with a wide range of individuals from early childhood through young adulthood. Dr. Piscitelle works as part of the Child and Adolescent Testing Service at McLean Hospital, in addition to the Clinical and Educational Neuropsychology Service. She is a Clinical Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
